From 1915 to 1917 the area along the present Slovene-Italian border was caught in a bloody armed conflict between the Kingdoms of Italy and Austro-Hungary, which history today calls the Isonzo Front. The fighting soldiers have left behind on a wide scattered area of the former battlefield many war memorials and monuments. From today's perspective we can divide them into the category of the historical monuments - rock or concrete artefacts with artistic elements (memorial plaques, graffiti stones, monuments etc.) and the architecture (military cemeteries, Mausoleums, chapels and churches), which are, despite a rich diversity, connected by the same time period, their military origin, a common purpose to remind us of the terrible events that took place here many years ago and of course about their participants.
Generally we are dividing the artefacts into objects of primary heritage, which were built during the course of the war and objects of secondary heritage which belong to a group of the Isonzo Front monuments which were built after the war and dedicated to the fallen soldiers. |
| The Idea |
The lack of proper records about the existing monuments of the Isonzo Front represents a serious problem when it comes to their professional preservation and tourist marketing. The main purpose of the web register is to gather and publish all existing knowledge about the objects, to monitor them via the web, preserve them as well as promote them for tourism purposes.
The information about the origin and history of the objects, their location and state of condition are to be sorted by international standards into a complex internet database . The "Pro Hereditate" web register of the war monuments in Slovenia and Italy, will form a comprehensive historical database of the battlefields of the Isonzo Front. |

| Method |
Podatki, ki so jih v minulih letih z načrtnim
terenskim popisovanjem spominskih vojnih obeležij soške fronte
na obeh straneh meje zbrali partnerji, niso enotno urejeni (enako
popolni) in enako kakovostni. Ker opise spominskih vojnih obeležij
avtonomno pripravljajo (dopolnjujejo, preverjajo na terenu,
vpisujejo ...) skoraj vsi člani projektne skupine, smo se v
potrebi, da bi bili vsi opisi metodološko in predstavitveno
enotni, odločili za vpisovanje vseh podatkov v popis prek prednastavljenih
vnosnih vmesnikov.
Struktura spletnega popisa Pro Hereditate je zasnovana interaktivno,
tako, da ne omogoča le enosmerne komunikacije, marveč tudi sodelovanje
zainteresirane javnosti pri preverjanju točnosti in ažurnosti
vsebin in njihovem dopolnjevanju. V ta namen je na uporabniški
strani spletnega popisa ob vsakem opisu spominskega vojnega
obeležja, bojišča ali muzeja odprt diskusijski forum, ki obiskovalcem
spletnih strani omogoča vpis komentarjev in pripomb. Uredništvo
spletišča odzive obiskovalcev redno spremlja in v primeru ugotovitve
napak v evidenčnih opisih objektov ali posredovanja novih podatkov
slednje ustrezno popravi oziroma dopolni.
Ker bi bile fotografije uporabnikov spletnih strani Pro Hereditate
zgovornejše od besed njihovih komentarjev, je v teku nadgradnja
spletnega popisa Pro Hereditate s fotogalerijami za vse registrirane
uporabnike. |
